Stewart Twynham

Stewart is an experienced IT professional with over 18 years’ experience in developing websites, Internet applications and associated technology.

While reading engineering at Brunel, Stewart had the opportunity to gain valuable Internet experience from as early as 1990 – several years before the Web made the leap from an academic research tool to become mainstream. He built his first commercial website in 1996 – at a time when many brands didn’t have a Web presence of any kind.

Stewart started out as an engineering undergraduate, sponsored by ICI. With only limited resources at his disposal, Stewart quickly built a reputation for being able to ‘conjure up’ software for a diverse range of engineering problem-solving, mathematical modelling, and CAD applications. Put simply, if it was too expensive, or it had never been done before, or it couldn’t be done – then Stewart just went ahead and did it himself.

Stewart joined Greenbook Industries plc in 1995 – where he used his IT knowledge to develop software for their electrical product range. It was at this time that Stewart became interested in the marketing of the products he was developing, and his Web experience naturally led him to developing the group’s first website.

In 1997, Stewart joined Quanta Consultancy Services, a small recruitment company based in Hertfordshire. Over the next six years, Stewart built up the Web platform and the entire back office IT infrastructure behind it – helping Quanta to grow into a pan- European recruitment business with over 50 employees in seven offices around Europe.

In 2003, Stewart established Bawden Quinn Associates – an IT consultancy which provided independent advice to businesses on all aspects of their IT infrastructure – but with particular emphasis on the areas that tend to sit outside of the scope of most IT/Web companies.

Examples of these areas include:

  • back office/Web integration.
  • application security.
  • development.
  • product and service marketing via the Web.

In 2006, Bawden Quinn joined forces with Labrow Marketing, and together they bring to market a unique combination of technical and commercial skills. This has enabled them to deliver sophisticated, accessible and standards-compliant websites to a broad range of industry sectors.

Stewart is a member of both the British Computer Society and the Institution of Engineering and Technology.
