Client profile

A leading provider of apprenticeship training in the UK and part of QA, the UK’s leading training company.

“Labrow Marketing’s understanding of the training industry shone through in the development process. We wanted a website with verve that connected with a younger target audience than QA’s normal demographic and the design nailed that. But Labrow Marketing’s industry experience also helped with the copywriting – where a verbal brief was all that was needed to write website content that absolutely positioned our business. Feedback so far has been very positive indeed.”

Ben Pike, Director, QA

Helping to attract young people to train as an apprentice

When QA, the UK’s largest training provider, wanted to launch a website to promote its growing apprenticeship training business, it chose Labrow Marketing.

For over twenty years, Peter Labrow of Labrow Marketing has probably undertaken more marketing projects for a greater number of training companies than any other marketing professional in the UK – and is considered to be a training industry marketing specialist.

QA’s Advanced Apprenticeship website is designed to attract potential learners to the company’s range of apprenticeship programmes. The website is targeted mainly at young people, aged 16-19, who are out of work and not in full-time education. However, the website has to also communicate effectively with parents of potential apprentices and organisations which may want to take on apprentices.

Although following the ‘QA brand’ the site is designed in vibrant colours more suited to the products on offer and the younger audience.

Visitors to the site can find information about the programmes, get answers to frequently asked questions, read case studies of successful apprentices and access a wealth of job support information.

The website is fully content managed, using the Umbraco content management system (which is in use in over 30,000 websites worldwide). This allows anyone to update content, without needing to learn how to edit HTML pages. Using the content management system makes it very simple indeed for the QA team to maintain the content – adding in new pages, editing pages, adding photographs and so on.

This website was developed in partnership with Bawden Quinn Associates, which provided the technical development for the content management system.
