Helping Blue Eskimo to deliver a more effective recruitment service, using the Web.

For specialist recruitment company Blue Eskimo, a website needs to be more than just a ‘brochure in the sky’ – it needs to be a core part of the business. Dissatisfied with the performance and value from their previous website, Blue Eskimo approached us. Their previous website was difficult and slow to update, did not perform well with search engines and was not attracting regular visitors.

Our solution was to build a new website that is fully content managed. This enables Blue Eskimo to update any part of the site themselves – which is essential for them to manage the bank of hundreds of learning and e-learning jobs which are advertised on the site.

Visitors to the site can sign up for e-mail alerts – delivering details of the latest jobs straight to their e-mail inbox. Or they can choose to get updates as RSS newsfeeds.

Visitors to the site can find jobs quickly by browsing by job role and location, or use the fast and accurate website search. The jobs themselves are the heart of the site, and Blue Eskimo is able to give jobs greater visual impact by choosing images and headings from a gallery of professionally created ‘themes’.

To help with search engine performance and to provide content that encourages visitors to return again and again, the site features an on-line magazine with original articles – written by Labrow Marketing – on topics which are of interest to the target audience.

The site has transformed Blue Eskimo’s activities on line. It has a strong level of regular traffic – a mixture of new and returning visitors. It now performs very well within leading search engines – especially the all-important jobs pages. Automatic updates of new jobs are now sent to thousands of subscribers.

Blue Eskimo’s site performs the role it should – being a key part of how the company works with its customers and candidates, without being a massive drain on time and resources.
