Client profile

A niche newswire which is the learning industry’s leading source of news.

“Labrow Marketing has been an integral part of Training Press Releases since its inception, around ten years ago. Its principal, Peter Labrow, has helped us to develop our core publicity and news distribution functionality, as well as providing us with website design and development services. Recently, Labrow Marketing completed a sitewide redevelopment of Training Press Releases: I literally could not put a price on the value that Peter Labrow delivered to the project – it could not have been completed, to the standard required, without his experience and insight. I have no hesitation in recommending Labrow Marketing to others needing help with strategic marketing and brand development, website design and development and marketing communications and publicity services.”

Helping the learning industry’s top newswire connect training providers with the media

Today’s busy organisations often don’t have time to create and manage their own publicity database – instead, they can tap into the global reach of newswires, to help them distribute their news.

Training Press Releases has been providing a news distribution service to the world’s learning organisations for over a decade. Unlike many newswires, which have a broad distribution, Training Press Releases is entirely focused on the learning industry.

For an annual subscription, learning organisations can login to their media management area and enter their press releases. Once a press release is published, the site automatically distributes it: it appears on Training Press Releases, other websites which take ‘feeds’ from Training Press Releases, is pushed out via social media platforms such as Twitter and is e-mailed to journalists, editors, industry commentators, specialists and bloggers. This provides clients with a massive distribution – reaching thousands of people who have, in various ways, opted in to Training Press Releases’ distribution mechanisms.

Training Press Releases distributes news for hundreds of learning providers worldwide and hosts thousands of press releases.

Having designed and built the original website, Labrow Marketing was also chosen to redevelop the website. This included a totally new design, witha new logo, new website structure – and integration with an entirely new content management system.

The goals were to make the site more modern, easier to use, increase interaction, integrate better with social media and maximise the publicity potential for each of Training Press Releases’ clients. It was also a core design goal to rebuild Training Press Releases using a platform that was suitable for future development and features. In addition, new features were added, such as social media integration and video embedding.

The redevelopment included not only the visible ‘front end’ of the website, but also a new ‘customer zone’ – a secure area where clients manage their online publicity from a single point. The customer zone also provides extensive online help to enable organisations to refine and improve their publicity.

The whole site was developed using the Umbraco content management system – supported by custom .NET development for the customer zone.
