Nic Dean is a Motion Designer turned tool-builder, who creates .mogrts, scripts and plugins for After Effects + Premiere. He reached out to me to help create a 30s sizzle reel for his new AE script, Super Resize Me.

Super Resize Me is a script that allows you to resize composition dimensions, and scale all child layers and precomps relative to it. This helps you quickly scale projects for different output resolutions while maintaining the same aspect ratio.

The art style was actually born from a personal project I’d created a few months earlier that Nic had seen. We took some rough sketches he’d drawn to lay out the story, and then met in the middle to create style frames, a storyboard, and then eventually the full animated video.
